Purse poach at Perch

The Brooklyn Paper

Perch purse poach

Some jerk nabbed a woman’s bag from under her table at Perch Café around 7 pm on July 11.

The victim told cops that she didn’t see anyone steal her purse from the trendy coffee shop and bar, which is between Fifth and Sixth streets.

The stealthy thief made out with two cameras, a monthly MetroCard and credit cards, which were used to buy two more MetroCards and gas.

Speed stealing

Someone broke into a Third Avenue house and stole a Blackberry, watch and camera within a span of only 45 minutes on July 15.

The victim told cops that he was gone from his home, which is between Sixth Street and the Gowanus Canal, from 6:15 pm to 7 pm. His pricey goods were gone by the time he got back.

Computheft

Someone broke into a Fifth Avenue apartment to steal a Hewlett-Packard desktop computer between July 9 and July 14.

The owner of the HP machine told cops that he was away from his home, which is between First and Second streets, when the computer was taken.

Pep props

A 62-year-old man scared off a guy who wanted to rob Pep-Boys on Fourth Avenue around 11:30 pm on July 11.

The senior was in the right place at the right time, as he saw the potential perp roaming the building, which is between Third and Fourth streets, with a crow bar.

The wannabe thief yelled, “What the f—k do you want?” to the Pep-Boys savior before taking off in a minivan.

Cops said that the perp managed to cut the alarm system’s wires, but didn’t make off with any goods. — Alex Rush
