High winds during Wednesday’s Nor’easter pushed a menacing tree into a house on 79th Street, causing minor damage, but briefly imprisoning a Doberman.
No one — not even homeowner Suzi Composto’s dog, Bones — was injured in the morning scare, though Bones had to be rescued after the building was ruled safe to enter.
Composto, her husband, her three kids and her grandfather were back in the house, which is near Sixth Avenue, by Wednesday afternoon. The damage was limited to a broken window and some scrapes on the roof.
And in other weather-related wackiness, the Verrazano Bridge was closed to truck traffic for an hour, forcing massive backups on the Staten Island-bound Gowanus Expressway, some of which affected local streets in the Ridge.
