The Macy’s menace

The Brooklyn Paper

Menace at Macy’s

Two purses were pilfered at the Macy’s on the Fulton Mall in the last two weeks.

• A thief swiped a woman’s purse as she was shoe shopping at the department store on Jan. 27. The victim told cops she was trying on pairs of shoes at around 4:30 pm when she noticed that her purse had vanished from the store, which is near Hoyt Street. She lost $150, a digital camera, an iPod and her $1,000 Gucci handbag.

• A week later, on Feb. 6, another thief committed the same dastardly deed, swiping a woman’s purse after she put it down to try on some shoes. The victim told cops the thief struck at around 6 pm. She lost $25, an assortment of IDs, and her housekeys.

School skirmish

A young troublemaker went berserk at George Westinghouse HS on Feb. 3, assaulting a school cop and sending him to the hospital.

The turmoil began at around 8 am when the irate 14-year-old student bumped the safety office inside the school, which is on Johnson Street between Lawrence and Bridge streets. The officer asked the youngster what was wrong, and got pushed in response.

During the scuffle, the teenager tore the officer’s radio microphone and beat him in the face with it, sending him to Long Island College Hospital.

Fast food thief

A thief swiped a woman’s purse at Wendy’s as she stood up to throw away the remains of her always fresh, never frozen burger on Feb. 1.

The victim told the boys in blue that she was in the Fulton Mall eatery at around 7 pm when the bandit made off with her bag. She lost an assortment of IDs, as well as the novel, “Zen In The Art of Archery.”

Stick up

A thief robbed an Atlantic Avenue bodega at gunpoint on Feb. 7, making off with $500.

The cashier told cops that the perp entered the store between Third Avenue and Nevins Street at around 8:30 pm, pulled a semi-automatic gun, and said, “Move motherf—er, give me the money!”

The thug then forced the cashier to get on his knees while he picked the register clean.

Fruit stain

A thief snatched a woman’s Blackberry from her hand on Myrtle Avenue on Feb. 1.

The victim told cops that she was at Flatbush Avenue Extension at around 9:15 pm when the brigand struck from behind. She did not get a look at her attacker.
