Should The Brooklyn Paper go behind a paywall?

for The Brooklyn Paper

Should we put all of The Brooklyn Paper’s award-winning content behind a paywall? We don’t know, so we tried it out — right here in our Downtown offices. Tell us what you think!

Go ahead do it. It would just speed your downfall. Oh you are owned by News Corp, you've already fell.

Zeke from Williamsburg says:
I wouldn't put everything behind the pay wall, but some stories would merit it, like this one: http://www.brooklynpaper.com/stories/32/4/32_4_gk_nude_angle.html

tee gee from sunset park says:
charge for viewing your content so that i will have the incentive to stop wasting my time reading about crime in the slope and the melodrama of the lives of elected officials.

Are you kidding? Even the fish the real paper is usually wrapped in would protest! Cats wouldn't use their litter boxes! Walls won't be painted! Boxes won't be stuffed!

jay from pslope says:
why would I pay to read about how great this paper thinks Marty Markowitz is?

Mike from Bay Ridge says:
I would certainly pay for the inciteful and high quality journalism presented on this site - like your number one article today on a new type of snack chips. I mean who wouldn't want to pay for high quality garbage like that?

Publius from Bklyn Heights says:
Why not just become fully subsidzed by the NYC real estate industry? You already do their bidding.

Ask Jed for some operating capital. You've done great work for him so far.

A O from BKLYN says:
this is a free paper right?

Fourth Estate from DUMBO says:
Wow! Pay to read your 'award winning', geographically irregular 'independent paper'. Sure, why not? I mean, it's not like there are countless neighborhood blogs that operate for free and are more reliable. So how much for the honor to be spoon fed?
