A bit of Broadway is coming to Brooklyn.
On April 9, Tony Award–winner Betty Buckley performs at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts in Flatbush — and her set list is yours.
In “Broadway By Request,” the first lady of the Great White Way will perform selections picked by the audience from her illustrious Broadway career, which includes “Cats,” “Sunset Boulevard,” “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” and “Song and Dance,” while accompanied by pianist Seth Rudetsky.
“The audiences had been expressing its desire for an all-Broadway program,” said director Richard Jay-Alexander. “So we tried it and people came.”
Patrons can suggest songs they want to hear at the beginning of the show, which will also come with stories about colleagues like Stephen Sondheim and Patti LuPone and behind-the-scenes tales.
May we suggest “Memory” from “Cats.” There’s a reason she won the Tony, after all.
