One of the world’s smallest instruments will help pay tribute to the world’s biggest bands this month.
For two hard days’ nights at Brooklyn Bowl, musician Roger Greenawalt and friends will perform all 185 Beatles’ songs on the ukulele.
“The Beatles are the most important artists that ever lived, and the ukulele is the easiest, happiest instrument there is,” said Greenawalt, a Williamsburg-based producer who successfully pulled off a similar stunt last year at Brooklyn Bowl. “They go perfectly together.”
The 12-hour tribute starts on Jan. 15, with Nellie McKay, Leah Siegel, Lovely Liar and The Ramblers joining Greenawalt on stage for 90 songs. The next day, a new crop of singers will finish the job. More than 100 musicians will ultimately lend their talents to the fab fest.
