• 7-1/2 pounds of chicken wings in 12 minutes
• 9 pounds, 5 ounces of deep fried asparagus in 10 minutes
• 47 grilled cheese sandwiches in 10 minutes

Lu Ming Kui
Age: 31
Background: A native of Qingdao, very little is known about him.
Successes: 13 HDBs at the 2011 Beijing qualifier

Tai Loi Mak
Age: 36
Profession: Technician/Taekwondo instructor
Background: Has participated in competitive eating since 2006. Beyond that, little is known.
Successes:
• 28 German sausages in eight minutes

Background: A perennial runner up, Janus eats with his identity concealed, like his soul.

Patrick Bertolleti
Age: 25
Profession: Chef
Background: One of the “Young Guns” of competitive eating, Bertolleti is never seen without his headphones, which blare Jesse and the Rippers during the contest.
Successes:
• 47 slices of pizza in 10 minutes
• 22-ounce Slurpee in nine seconds
• 4-1/4 pounds of baby back ribs in eight minutes
• 10.8 pounds of key lime pie eight minutes
• 55 HDBs in 10 minutes
