Here are your kickball all-stars!

The Brooklyn Paper

Last year’s kickball champions are filling up of this year’s All-Star slots.

The third-ranked John Cougar Mellencamps is sending six members to the league’s sixth annual all-star game this Saturday at McCarren Park’s Gilroy Field, in recognition for their mastery of the sport this season.

The game consists of an all-day tournament including teams from Brooklyn, Toronto, Hoboken, NJ, and Atlanta — who defeated a Brooklyn home team in a close final last year.

This year, League Commissioner Kevin Dailey, who will coach one of several Brooklyn teams, has vowed to bring the trophy back to its native Yankee soil.

“I am personally managing one of the teams, and I guarantee we will win,” said Dailey.

Dailey will have several Mellencampers to pick from, including Andrew “Jolly Green” Yates, Georgia “States are Named after me” Nerheim, Andy “Shark Week” Lin, Mike “Baby Jesus” Scott, Mikey “Hands” Parrilli and Pitcher “Shirtless” Tom.

Scott, a rookie, will be playing in the first all-star game of his career.

“Its a honor, I didn’t expect to make the team, so I am glad Baby Jesus gets to rep the JCMs and hopefully my team wins,” said Scott.

Also representing Brooklyn are Pony Boys captain Jason “Einhorn” Finkel, first-place New Frontiersmen Josh “Blues” Moody and Mike “Robert” Altman, and Brooklyn United’s Rob “Matzo” Lotzko.

Most teams were still finalizing their all-star selections by the time this article went to press.

International Kickball Tournament at Gilroy Field in McCarren Park (Bedford Avenue at N. 13th Street in Greenpoint), July 9 from 1 to 11 pm.
