Sex predator on the loose in Bay Ridge

A gun-wielding man sexually assaulted and robbed two women in the span of about 40 minutes on Feb. 25 on 82nd Street in Bay Ridge, cops say.

The first incident occurred between Fifth and Sixth avenues at around 11:15 pm. The perp approached a 44-year-old woman from behind and pointed a gun to her back.

He pushed her into the building and yelled, “I’m going to kill you bitch” before jacking her cellphone and $6.

The mugger also unzipped his pants and tried to unzip the victim’s jacket before she fought him off. He finally fled.

About 20 minutes later near Fifth Avenue, the same jerk approached a victim, showed off a handgun, and forced his victim behind a building, where he sexually assaulted her.

The perp then took her cellphone and fled.

“The investigation is ongoing and we’re taking this very seriously,” said 68th Precinct Deputy Inspector Eric Rodriguez. “It’s an unusual incident; there aren’t many sexual assaults around here.”

This is the first sexual assault to be reported within the confines of the Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights precinct this year. The last sexual assault was three years ago, Rodriguez said.

We all should be on the lookout for this suspect except no description is provided at all. Height, weight, skin color, ethnicity? Or is that no longer politically correct to describe a suspected perp?

Secondly... what ever happened with the alleged rape claim made by a female police officer on Bay Ridge Ave. a few years ago. It seemed like a horrific crime at he time but not another word was said afterward as if it was somehow swept under the rug for some reason. You'd think at least the local papers would have followed up on it.

I heard that the claim by the female police officer was false and swept under the carpet because she was a police officer.

I agree with KPMc...I am sure somekind of sketch is available and should be made public. Hopefully, DNA will match someone already in the criminal system.
Citizens should have something to be on the lookout for or maybe someone may know or have seen this criminal.

If that is true you'd think that at least one of the "journalists" of the Daily News, Post, Times, Brooklyn Papers, Brooklyn Eagle or the three local Bay Ridge papers would have had the stones to report that.

Or maybe one of the local politicians would have said something so that their constituents weren't living in unnecessary fear or looking for a suspect that didn't exist.

But apparently it's OK for neighbors to go on thinking a rape occurred so close to them while a falsely reporting liar goes unpunished.

Shame on all involved.

back in december 2010, I tried to report an attack on me, at the corner of Colonial and 85th, but the 911 operator was such an —— that I hung up. My friend insisted that I call the police, and when I called the 68th precinct they told me I had to come in and file a report. Frankly, they should have sent someone to my house rather than ask me to go out there when I was scared out of my wits. It could be the same guy, I'll never know.
