A waterfall in Bay Ridge!

A waterfall in Bay Ridge!
Howard Weiss

This guy went chasing waterfalls!

A cascade of rain water was streaming down a 76th Street staircase in Bay Ridge on Aug. 4, in the middle of an early morning thunder and lightning storm.

A Mill Basinite stopped in his tracks on his way to work at Fort Hamilton when he saw the torrent gushing from the top of the steps near Colonia Avenue at about 9 am — it was a waterfall too peaceful to pass up, so he immediately got out his phone and started filming, said Howard Weiss.

“I just looked out my rearview mirror and saw the waterfall coming down and I was like, ‘What the hell is that? I need to record this,’ ” he said.

The flowing water may have looked tranquil, like one you’d see in a tropical rainforest, but Weiss knew better than to go for a dip, he said.

“I just wanted to sit there and let it all hit me, but I know it’s all dirty,” said Weiss. “I just sat there and recorded a video.”
