Brooklyn Youth Empowerment, whose mission is to bring encouragement, hope and practical living steps to Brooklyn’s youth and make them aware of their abilities and the power they possess within to take charge of their situations and positively affect their environment, will be hosting a three-day conference, October 10-12, in hopes of challenging Brooklyn’s youth.
A youth rally will be held October 10 from 7-9 p.m. at 45 East Eighth Street between Caton & Kermit places, followed by empowerment workshops: spiritual, entrepreneurial, health and wellness, and educational, October 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a concert, October 12 at 6 p.m.
Research shows that that lack of information and not having the ability to make informed decisions is negatively impacting young people in the community who are low-income, minority, urban, single-parent youth.
