Belt brute
A ruffian hit a man with a belt on 62nd Street one hour later on May 29.
The victim told police that he was was walking by the corner of Utrecht Avenue at 8:05 pm when the victim came up to him, started and argument, and smacked him with his belt. The victim told cops he suspects the man was his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.
Precinct pilferer
Cops re-cuffed a man at the 62nd precinct for allegedly stealing $100 from another detainee on May 29.
The victim told police that the thief nabbed the cash from the man’s jacket while he was sleeping in their shared cell at the precinct on Bath Avenue and Bay 22nd Street at 10 pm. Cops strip searched the defendant and found the cash on the inside of his shorts waistband strip, authorities said.
Close call
Two men nearly robbed a financial services store on Bath Avenue on May 29 before alarms scared them off.
An employee told police that she was opening up an Payomatic by 21st Avenue at 7:55 am when the two brutes pushed her to the ground, one holding a black firearm. The robber-wannabes told her to turn off the alarm when she entered the store but she didn’t, and when the alarm went off, the thieves fled.
Electronic escape
Two bandits stole $3,679 worth of electronics from a 76th Street apartment on May 30.
The victim told police that one of the crooks entered the apartment between 19th and 20th avenues from the window at 3:02 am while the victim was watching TV in his living room. The thief snagged the electronics and hopped back out the window, and the the victim saw the him and an accomplice run eastbound on 76th Street.
