84th Precinct salutes ace crime−busting duo

A duo of cops from the 84th Precinct received top honors last week for nabbing DUMBO’s commercial building bandit.

The cops, Officers Noah Molina and David Mills were on routine patrol on May 7 when they received a call of a suspicious person inside 55 Washington Street — the site of a string of past burglaries, according to Captain Mark DiPaolo, the commanding officer of the precinct.

The cops, members of the precinct’s Anti−Crime Team, encountered the man and realized he fit the description of a person responsible for burglaries at the building, according to Leslie Lewis, the president of the 84th Precinct Community Council.

The suspect was taken back to the precinct house, where the cops spoke to detectives, who determined that the man was indeed responsible for a string of crimes, according to Lewis. The man was charged with six counts of burglary, two counts of petit larceny, and a count each of criminal trespass, criminal possession of stolen property, and possession of burglary tools, Lewis said. “That’s a hell of a job,” he added.
