Achilles Track Club

Whether you’re looking to participate in a five-miler, or simply to have fun and exercise, the Achilles Track Club may be just what you’re looking for.

The Brooklyn Chapter will be meeting every Sunday through June, at 10 a.m. in Marine Park by the parking lot at East 33rd Street.

Achilles offers people of all ages, from all places, with all kinds of physical disabilities the inspiration, training, technical expertise and resources to be able to participate in local and national running events including marathons.

Started in 1983 by Dick Traum, the first amputee to run the NYC Marathon, runners participate with crutches, in wheelchairs, on prostheses, and without aids.

Membership in Achilles is free and includes races, coaching, workouts, team T-shirts, and their newsletter, “The Achilles Heel.”
