An evening of awareness on women

Hadassah Brooklyn Region, in cooperation with the Sisterhood of East Midwood Jewish Center, presents “An Evening of Awareness on Women’s Health” featuring the doctors and staff of Maimonides Medical Center, November 4from 5-8 p.m. at the East Midwood Jewish Center, 1625 Ocean Avenue.

Topics and presenters include “What to Expect As a Hospital Patient,” Karen Cusimano, director of Patient Relations; News from the Fight Against Breast Cancer %u2013 “The Latest in Prevention,” William Solomon, MD, Division of Hematology/Oncology; “Discoveries with the BRCA Genes,” Patrick Borgen, MD, director, Brooklyn Breast Cancer Program and chairman, Department of Surgery; “How Genetics Counseling Can Help,” Sarah Bradley, genetics counselor; “Encouraging News on Treatment,” Alan Astrow, MD, director, Division of Hematology/Oncology; and “A Personal Story,” Jill Nathanson.

The general public is invited to attend this educational event. Attendees may arrive at any time during the program. A light kosher dairy dinner will be served.
