Looking for an illegal bailout…
In these troubled financial times, people are trying to do everything to pad their 401K plan.
The note−passing bandit currently being sought for knocking over a Bensonhurst bank seems to be no exception.
Police said that the thief, who is believed to be between 45 and 50, but looks much older in video images taken during the robbery, walked into the Dime Savings Bank branch at 1545 86th Street just after 3:15 p.m. on April 20 and passed a threatening note to the teller demanding cash.
The teller complied with the demand and the thief ran off with an undisclosed amount of money, officials said.
Witnesses described the thief as 5’10” and between 160 and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, a light−colored baseball cap and a hooded sweatshirt.
Police were still looking for the thief as this paper went to press.
Anyone with information regarding this thief’s whereabouts is urged to come forward. Calls can be made to the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at (800) 577−TIPS.
All calls will be kept confidential.
