BI-Kings Highway Division welcomes new nursing director

Lisa Cohen, RN, MA, NE-BC, who had worked at Beth Israel Medical Center for more than a decade during the early part of her career, has been named director of Nursing at Beth Israel Medical Center-Kings Highway Division.

According to Marie Flordeliza, MHA, BSN, RN, CCRN, vice president for Patient Care Services for the Brooklyn Division, who made the announcement, among Cohen’skey responsibilities are the efficient management of resources and to ensure the maintenance of quality standards and nursing care excellence.

Cohen was a clinical supervisor and then a weekend administrative supervisor at the Petrie Division before taking on positions of greater responsibility at Elmhurst Hospital, where she was assistant director of Nursing for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, and then as nurse manager for Surgery and Surgical Step-Down at Winthrop University Hospital.

Before returning to Beth Israel, East 32nd Street and Kings Highway in marine Park, Cohen was director of Nursing at Lenox Hill Hospital, where she managed the operational activities of the Surgical Nursing Division.
