So say members of the East 49th and East 48th Street Block Association, who honored local crime fighters during their 2nd Annual Award ceremony.
Gathering on Schnectady Avenue between Linden Boulevard and Lenox Road, president Gail Dixon handed out awards to a host of cops from the 67th Precinct, the precinct’s support personnel and community advocates who promote law and order in the community.
Following a dance presentation and remarks from State Senator John Sampson, awards were handed out to Inspector Corey Pegues and Captain Lewis Verleing, the commanding officer and executive officer of the 67th Precinct.
Also honored was Detective Leroy “Hutch” Hutchinson, the 67th Precinct’s community affairs officer.
Awards were also given out to Pat Reddock, the longtime president of the 67th Precinct Community Council.
