Boys in blue take centerstage at Keyspan Park

The skirl of bagpipes unfurled the pomp as New York’s Bravest celebrated their agency with an FDNY night at KeySpan Park.

The Emerald Society Pipes & Drum Band led a processional of firefighters to the Coney Island stadium, 1904 Surf Avenue, pausing at the KeySpan Wall of Remembrance and Tribute Walk to pay tribute to 9/11’s uniformed and other first-responding fatalities immortalized there, as part of a special events night before the Brooklyn Cyclones squared off against the Staten Island Yankees.

The evening featured a Fire Department showcase, preceded by a fireworks show and featuring safety demonstrations, an on-field romp for children of firefighters, plus a fireboat water display.

Chief of Operations {at McNally tossed the ceremonial first pitch and Firefighter Regina Wilson of Engine 219 sang the national Anthem.

Firefighters enjoyed a post-game party at Peggy O’Neills, located in front of the stadium.
