Dancing in the streets fanned the spirit, bathing Brighton Beach in the glow of the faithful as Chanukah celebrations got underway outside the home of an eminent religious leader.
Observers ushered in the Festival of Lights by illuminating a menorah outside the home of Orthodox Rabbi Zushe Winner, 321 Seabreeze Avenue, where mom, dad and the kids joyously pounded the pavement and shared music, latkes and donuts %u2013 boosted by a generous helping of good cheer %u2013 to mark the festive holiday.
Rabbi Winner is the spiritual leader of the Seabreeze Jewish Center, 311 Seabreeze Avenue, and considered an authority on Jewish law and the Kabbalah.
