Borough President Marty Markowitz joined a growing chorus of elected officials backing Democratic candidate Steve Levin in the 33rd District Council race (Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Williamsburg) to replace David Yassky.
His reason?Because “process is important but results are more important.”
“He’s going to produce,” said Markowitz.“I think the other candidates are too overwhelmed by process.Running Assemblyman Vito Lopez’s office for the past few years, he understands you have to achieve results and you have to get things done.”
Levin was thrilled that Markowitz is supporting him, the second such major endorsement at Borough Hall. Two weeks ago, Levin received the support of New York Senator Chuck Schumer.
“Marty Markowitz is a Brooklyn icon and a tremendous public servant who has been serving Brooklyn for over 30 years,” said Levin.
