Make a difference in 2009 — Volunteer for Calvary@Home.
Calvary@Home provides comprehensive home care, hospice, and nursing home hospice to thousands of patients in the New York area, suffering from advanced cancer, and other chronic and acute terminal illnesses.
They are in need of diverse adult volunteers of all ages to help patients inBrooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Manhattan, and Westchester, Rockland, and Nassau counties.
You can help with important things such as:
• Providing respite for care-givers;
• Delivering supplies and running errands to people’s homes; and
• Assisting with meal preparation.
If you speak Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Greek and other languages, you are encouraged to contact Calvary@Home today.
All it takes to become a volunteer for Calvary@Home is to attend a comprehensive training session. The Summer Sessions are available from June-September 2009 and you can choose from sessions in Brooklyn, Queens or The Bronx.
Pick the training schedule that suits you — Monday evenings, Sunday afternoons, weekday mornings, or weekday afternoons. They can even come to your church, synagogue, mosque, orcommunity center — just let them know. There is no charge for this training.
