Can anyone stop the Cyclones?

The Clones just keep the wins coming

Cyclones 4
Valley Cats 3

Wednesday, July 1, at Keyspan Park

The first of three Tri-City errors led to the first Cyclone run in the bottom of the first. John Servidio led off the inning with a single, but got second on an error. He later scored on a single by Sam Honeck.

And he’s … safe! Sam Honeck slides and gets past Renegade catcher Mayobanex Acosta (who was out of position, frankly) on a key play in the fourth inning of the Cyclones’ 3–1 win on Tuesday night.

In the bottom of the third, Servidio led off with his third homer of the year. After another Honeck single, Ralph Henriquez knocked him in with an RBI double. And Henriquez scored on a Luis Rivera single.

Starter Collin McHugh raised his record to 3–0, though he was not his invicible self, yielding three runs in his six innings of work — but he also struck out eight.

Starting pitcher Jim Fuller lowered his ERA to .69 in the Cyclones 3–1 win on Tuesday night.

Relievers Sam Martinez, Matias Carrillo and Mike Powers closed it out with three innings of shutout ball.

The win raised the Cyclones record to a league-best 10–2 and put the Brooks in first place by five games.
