Cash and scary
Three gunmen pushed a man into a Kane Street apartment on July 22 and took a safe containing $40,000.
A 59-year-old man was entering his apartment between Court and Clinton Streets at 6 am when a burly thug clubbed him over the head with a gun. Two more men appeared, and the terrible trio tied up the victim and rifled his belongings.
Eventually, the robbers found the safe, swiping it along with its contents: a Rolex watch and $40,000.
They might steal giants
A fitness-deprived perp broke into a man’s Second Place garage and gershed two bicycles between July 22 and July 24.
The 62-year-old victim told cops that he last noticed his two Giant brand bicycles on July 22. When he returned to his home, between Henry and Clinton Streets, on July 24, they were gone.
Bike blitz
A man forced his way into a Clinton Street apartment building and gershed two bicycles on July 23.
A witness told cops that he was aroused from a slumber at around 12:45 am after hearing loud noises in the hallway of his building, as if someone was forcing his way inside. The 28-year-old man checked it out and noticed that two bicycles — a $450 silver Trek and a $150 nondescript purple ride — were missing. The witness said he proceeded to take his own bike, safeguard it in his apartment, and go back to sleep.
Bolt cutters
A thief broke into a President Street apartment on July 23, taking electronics and jewelry.
A 43-year-old victim told cops she left her home, located between Clinton and Court Streets, at 11 am and returned at 2:30 pm to find a digital camera, turquoise pendant and gold chain missing.
Cops said the thief removed the bolts from the front door.
Not fair way
Someone stole a woman’s wallet at the Red Hook Fairway on July 25.
The 21-year-old victim was paying for her goods at around 7 pm when she placed her wallet on the side of the cash register. At around 9:45 pm, she realized her wallet was missing, but it was too late. When she returned to the store, which is at the water end of Van Brunt Street, the wallet was gone.
