Come see the transoms at Middle School 51

The William Alexander Middle School 51 Art Department will host a special fundraiser exhibit called the “Transom Project.”

Friends, parents and students are invited to come and see the exhibit on May 1, from 6-8:30 p.m.

The works of art created by the sixth and seventh grade artists of the school, 350 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, will soon transform the transom space above approximately 130 classroom doors throughout the school. This school beautification project will be the pride of MS 51 for years to come.

To celebrate this event, there will be a special viewing at the school and a reception for friends and parents of “51” at the Old Stone House in JJ Byrne Park. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

The funds will be used to recoup the cost of this project, and to order new supplies for the coming year.
