Crack up with cars, bus

Several people were injured following a multiple vehicle crash that involved two cars and a city bus.

Witnesses told police that a Nissan Altima was trying to pass a Saturn at the corner of Avenue H and East 45th Street on the afternoon of September 11 when he lost control of his vehicle.

The Altima hit the Saturn and reportedly went airborne as it flew over the double yellow line into a B-103 bus traveling down Avenue H in the opposite direction.

There were about a dozen people on the bus when the accident took place, officials said. All of them were treated at the scene.

Responding firefighters and paramedics pulled the driver of the Nissan from his car and rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition after treatment.

It was unclear if any charges were filed against the Nissan owner as this paper went to press.
