Dr. Oz health fair

HealthCorps®, the innovative health educational and mentoring program founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz, announces New York City‘s largest single day Health Fair spanning all five boroughs, rain or shine, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Brooklyn, the fair will be held at Grand Street Enterprise High School, 850 Grand Street and Bushwick Avenue.

The Health Fair will reflect local flavor and feature a range of entertainment for all ages- live music, DJs, marching bands, carnival games, step teams, singers, dancers, circus performers and jugglers.

Among those who will be in attendance are New York Giants’ trainers Jerry Palmieri and Markus Paul; Miss Saturn, as event host with and DJ Phi Pham; Miss Coney Island; The Hungry March Band; Step dancers from Kingsborough Early College School; and the Grand Street High School Fashion Show.

The Highway to Health Fair will offer free health screenings, healthy food booths, fitness classes, cooking demonstrations, sports contests, prizes, and giveaways, including a year’s supply of Mueller’s pasta.

Other highlights include Zumba Latin-inspired fitness classes, consultations with Susan G Komen for the Cure; GoGo Aerobics with Angie Pontani; Hip Hop dance class with Andria Edmead; specialty fitness workshops by the New York Road Runners and Plan to Excel; sneaker fit checkups from New York State Podiatric Medical Association; workout sessions with New York Sports Clubs and Cardona Fitness trainers; healthy snack samples from Vemma Nutrition Co, and Chiquita, Snapple Antioxidant Water.

Dr. Oz, cardiac surgeon, best-selling author and Health Expert on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” will be joined by such celebrity guests as New York City Council members, athletes, and musical performers.
