The civic-minded were delivered a tall salute when the East 34th Street Block Association held its annual scholarship benefit at Café Omar.
Honorees were feted at the dining establishment, 1744 Nostrand Avenue, with awards of appreciation for their community advocacy and their assistance in raising money for the further education of local students.
The honorees were: Assemblymember Nick Perry, “Political Award;” Malissie Reynolds, “Appreciation Award,” Rodrick Daley, “Community Service,” and Robert Gordon, “Business Leader.”
The association serves the area between Farragut and Glenwood roads.
