Description:

“A Persistence of Cormorants” is a June through September outdoor poetry reading series featuring 36 accomplished and exceptional poets, many of whom live in Brooklyn. On each of the eleven scheduled Sundays, three or four featured poets read for 15 minutes each. The featured readers for August 15 include Margo Taft Stever, Elaine Sexton, and Michelle Yasmine Valladares. This free and open to the public event is made possible by the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club, and is curated by Gerald Wagoner
