Ailey Moves NYC!

Alvin Ailey American Dance Foundation presents Ailey Moves NYC! a free summer celebration of outdoor events throughout all five boroughs, July 23 – August 1, 2022. Join in the dance on Saturday, July 23 at the kick-off events at the Coney Island Amphitheater, including a 3pm West African Dance Workshop with live drumming followed by a 7pm performance by the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. The 10-day series continues in all five boroughs with activities featuring Ailey II, Ailey Extension—which provides dance and exercise classes for people of all ages—and Ailey Arts In Education programs. Ailey Moves NYC! offers New Yorkers performances, dance classes, Revelations workshops, and screenings of Jamila Wignot’s acclaimed 2021 documentary Ailey.
