Beirut Dekene: Music from the Market Live at Arlene’s Grocery
We are very excited to announce our final Rebuild Beirut Benefit Show Beirut Dekene: Music from the Market Live at Arlene’s Grocery. You can stream the event March 7th at 3 pm EST on Noonchorus.com/rebuild-beirut.
We have an incredible lineup of performers including two time Grammy nominated singer Martha Wash, Egyptian singer-song writer Ramy Essam, Oud player Hadi Eldebek (Brooklyn Nomads), electronic musician and vocalist Tamara Qaddoumi, and hosts comedian and co-star of Hulu’s Ramy, Dave Merheje, and British-Lebanese comedian Isabelle Farah.
6 Months after the devastating blast in August Beirut is still struggling to recover. As winter sets in, many are still without homes, or homes that are too damaged to protect from colder temperatures. This also comes with the overlapping crises of COVID-19 and an economy in free fall.
Our previous 4-part series raised over $11,000 for organizations doing important work on the ground like FoodBlessed, Baytna Baytak, Basmeh & Zeitooneh, the Anti-Racism Movement, This is Lebanon, a Queer Mutual Aid fund, and the Lebanese Red Cross. This final show seeks to raise at least another $5,000 for some of these same organizations to continue their essential work.
The show will also mark the release of our compilation album. This album includes amazing unique performances from artists that were part of our first 4-part series such as Zeid Hamdan, Lynn Adib, Tanjaret Daghet, Jowan Safadi and more…more details to come.
So get your tickets today and join us for this exciting event to help raise funds and help Beirut to rebuild. Tickets are tiered ($15, $25, $50, $100) give what you can.
