Brooklyn Community Services Presents the Grand Opening of its Mental Health Program: The Greater Heights Clubhouse
Brooklyn Community Services will hold a Grand Opening Ceremony for The Greater Heights Clubhouse, a client-run program for adults living with mental health illness. Formerly known as East New York Clubhouse, the grand opening signifies the program’s move to a new location with a new name. The name comes in recognition of the clubhouse’s long standing slogan: “Reaching Greater Heights Every Day!” and its legacy of empowering individuals living with mental illness to achieve their life goals.
The ceremony will include a ribbon cutting, tour of the space, and remarks from Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, District 37 Council Member Sandy Nurse, and BCS Executive Director Janelle Farris. The press and public are invited to attend the ceremony at 10am on May 5, 2022 at 980 Halsey St., Brooklyn, NY. Please RSVP to the ceremony by Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022.
Founded in 1995, BCS’ Greater Heights Clubhouse is a recognized Clubhouse International accredited program which offers services and opportunities for adults who have a history of mental illness. Members and staff work side-by-side to accomplish the day-to-day work of the Clubhouse, while using Clubhouse resources to regain connections to the greater community by accessing employment, education, and housing opportunities. The clubhouse currently serves 241 members and counting, and to date has served over 850 individuals.
