October 24, 1 pm3:30 pm.
$130

Description:

Indulge all your senses with an afternoon of art and food produced by the Brooklyn Museum and Great Performances, which operates the museum’s on-site full service restaurant, The Norm. You’ll view The Obama Portraits Tour during the exhibition’s sold-out last weekend, then savor an exclusive lunch at The Norm with Jane Dini, Andrew W. Mellon Senior Curator, American Art, who will give a talk about the exhibit and conduct a Q&A. Your meal will begin with cocktails from the popular Prospect Heights bar Ode To Babel, featuring the essence of the flowers in the background of President Barack Obama’s portrait.

An exciting four-course lunch will follow, co-created by The Norm’s award-winning executive chef Kavon William Langley and his mentor, Charmain Sithappah, chef and owner of Brooklyn’s The Seasoned Pot. Menu highlights include Durban Cauliflower Curry with Bunny Chow and Red Snapper Thieboudienne (a Senegalese spice blend and tomato preparation) with Netetou (akin to China’s fermented black beans), Seasonal Vegetables and Broken Rice.

A wine pairing by the Brooklyn-based Highly Recommended wine club will be available for an additional $45 per person.

The Obama Portraits Tour viewing, 1-2 pm, lunch, 2-3:30 pm. Tickets are $130 for exhibit admission and lunch. Brooklyn Museum Member tickets are $110.
