Creekers Jamboree featuring Juliet Varnedoe

Description:
The Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club is hosting a performance by Juliet Varnedoe at the Creekers Jamboree.
Creekers Jamboree will take place September, 25th, 5 pm – 8:30 pm. Band starts at 8:30.
Creekers Jamboree is a music series that celebrates Roots and Americana music on the banks of the Gowanus Canal. The boathouse is located at:
165 2nd Street, Gowanus, Brooklyn, NY 11231
This season, the Gowanus Dredgers are reconnecting Gowanus regulars and visitors with events at our canal. We hope to offer free canoe voyages on Saturdays before shows, south of the active EPA cleanup (location TBD), but stop by our boathouse for some hootin’ good times as the sun sets.
It’s free to attend but donations are encouraged and reservations at $10 are available for the front two rows & one complimentary beverage. Tickets are available HERE
Jazz vocalist, Juliet Varnedoe, draws on her Cajun roots to create a French Café style of jazz and blues that incorporates traditions of New Orleans swing and Delta Blues. Her cool lush vocal style is backed by premier jazz musicians from the New York scene, including accordion and vibraphone. Her stage presence evokes the glamour of the Jazz Age, with influences of Peggy Lee, Julie London, and Anita O’Day.
