Miro Magloire’s New Chamber Ballet
Choreographer Miro Magloire presents his New Chamber Ballet at the Mark Morris Center in the world premiere of a new work along with company repertory. The as yet untitled work marks the launch of a new collaboration between Magloire and the Manhattan School of Music: a Composition Prize for Dance to be awarded to one of the school’s composition students. Prize winner of the first award is Elizabeth Gartman, born in 1996, who has composed the score for Miro’s new ballet. Other Magloire works on the program are set to music by 95-year old Austrian composer Friedrich Cerha, French composer Tristan Murail, and Brahms. All music played live by violinist Doori Na and pianist Melody Fader. At the Mark Morris Dance Center, 3 Lafayette Avenue, Bklyn.
