Description:
On Saturday, April 30, for one night only, four bands and three comics come together to rock out, laugh loud, and raise money to support reproductive rights for all women
The producers of Big Mermaid Comedy & Drag Show and She Makes Me Laugh Comedy Festival, in partnership with Creek and Kills, local feminist postpunk rockers and curators of the Motherboard and BQUakE Music Series, proudly present a music and comedy benefit show for one night at Purgatory, an exciting new venue in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Featuring Kenice Mobley (Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon), Christi Chiello (Comedy Central Stand Up), and Sarah Hartshorne (Feminist Buzzkills of Comedy Tour), and the Brooklyn-based bands Choked Up (Don Giovanni Records with frontwoman and New York Times–featured graphic novelist Cristy Road), Frida Kill (Insecurity Hit Records), Lady Bits (featured in Tom Tom magazine), and Creek and Kills (heard on WFMU).
Sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery, where they brew beer as exciting and vibrant as their namesake borough, and Nunchi, environmentally-conscious and conflict-free jewelry to make you smile. Audience members will have an opportunity to win cases of Brooklyn Brewery’s award-winning beers and pieces of Nunchi’s beautiful jewelry.
