Summer Artist Residency: Lost Voyage
At FiveMyles, the two artists continue their collaboration on the themes of migration and place-making. Live-stremed performances with poets and dancers will take place over the course of the residency. Visit www.fivemyles.org for more information. Please note: the number of visitors in the space is limited to 12 people at any given time.
Miriam Parker and Jo Wood-Brown began working together in early 2010s, under the collaboration InnerCity Projects, where they interpret the boundaries of time and place. Over six weeks at Five Myles, Parker and Wood-Brown will present “Lost Voyage”, a studio-like residency that centers around the ideas of journey, identity, and oasis. Parker brings her insight of movement, performance, and installation to Wood-Brown’s painted Sylphs that appear as photos and embodied in sculptural forms. In addition, they will invite musicians, poets, and dancers to interpret and engage the space as it unfolds in the hands of Parker and Wood-Brown.
