T-shirt Making at BAX (For Kids Ages 4+)
About the Workshop
In Artuta’s second in-person Summer workshop, instructors Kosuke and Joan will guide you through the process of decorating your t-shirt using special fabric paint! We’ll start with a warm-up using pens and paper and then, once you’ve decided on a design, our instructors will show you how to apply it to your shirt. Joan and Kosuke will paint alongside you, offering guidance and encouraging you to experiment. T-shirts will be photographed and featured in the Artuta Online Art Gallery. Bring your own t-shirt and we’ll provide the rest!
*After the paint dries, you will need to set it by ironing it at home according to the instructions.

Artuta is an online art school for children ages 4–12 featuring classes taught by professional NYC artists. Our student-centered teaching methodology fosters creativity, concentration, and problem-solving. Through the use of examples and by working along with instructors, students will naturally become familiar with lines, shapes, colors, materials and creative concepts.
While students are welcome to follow along with the instructor, we encourage them to explore their own ideas, interests and personalities. Class sizes remain small, only admitting up to five students, in order to cultivate engagement and interactivity. Our students come to us from all over the Eastern Time Zone, which means in addition to becoming young artists, our students make new friends!
Coming up at Artuta
Artuta’s Fall 2022 Session kicks off on September 14 and will focus on drawing, collage, watercolor and bookmaking. Instruction is step-by-step, enabling young artists to immediately employ simple methods towards increasingly complex works–leading up to a final project in the last week. Artuta’s classes build in time for discussion and reflection, so, in addition to an expanded skill set, even experienced students will leave the class with a deeper relationship with their artistic practice.
There will be activities where your child will be required to cut paper or objects with scissors, which will require extra supervision. Please do not leave any child unattended while scissors or sharp objects are present. Artuta cannot be held liable for any harm or injury that takes place during our classes.
The online class may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance purposes. Only screen recording of instructors may be used for marketing purposes. Your continued participation in this class as express consent to be monitored or recorded.
