TART: A Holiday Popup featuring works by women artists
In TART, Brooklyn-based Work in Progress embraces the resilience of women’s voices. Curators Marly Hammer and Lisa Wirth have assembled a unique selection of big and small fun art — attainable (read: pandemic-budget friendly) works in celebration of feminist expression and space taking.
Included are seven emerging and mid-career women artists, selected for their artistic space taking and playfulness with material, medium, message, and form.
From vagina incense holders, and huggable soft knit sculptures — to bold lipstick screen prints and a DIY cross stitch Woman Card, shop unique and limited edition works by women artists, priced from $40 to $500. The TART online art shop offers holiday shoppers (and collectors of all budgets) the perfect opportunity to shop locally, support women, and buy art.
The group show runs December 1st through January 4th of 2021 online, and in-person for a one-day pop-up December 12th in Boerum Hill.
