Treats in the Streets
The Meatpacking Business Improvement District is up to its old tricks again – hosting Treats in the Streets, a Halloween celebration in the district’s plaza and open streets on Saturday, October 30 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Visitors of all ages can visit Meatpacking shops and restaurants for a variety of treats and fun activities to celebrate all things spooky in the city.
Head downtown for a day of unique and traditional Halloween happenings in the District. Adults can enjoy alcoholic beverages at Alice + Olivia and the Gansevoort Hotel, while families can trick-or-treat at Diane Von Furstenberg and Serafina Meatpacking. Additionally, Neighborhood Goods is hosting dog and owner portraits in-store, and TriangleLoft is hosting a haunted house and pumpkin painting. Blue Point will be serving samples of beer in 14th Street Park complete with a pumpkin patch for Instagrammable moments.
There will also be games in the streets throughout the day such as pumpkin decorating, pumpkin ring toss, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, and corn hole along with the scheduled activities below:
- 12pm – Live music on Gansevoort Plaza and W 13th Street
- 12pm – Drag Queen Story Hour on Gansevoort Plaza
- 1pm – Drag Queen Story Hour on W 13th Street
- 2pm: The Meatpacking District’s 3rd Annual Doggie Costume Contest on Little W 12th Street. Grand Prize is an overnight stay at the dog-friendly Gansevoort Hotel! Register your dog onsite for the contest starting at 1pm on Oct. 30. Show will begin at 2pm.
In addition to the Halloween festivities, West 13th Street will host the Future Streets Design Expo, an event highlighting manufacturers creating products for the future of New York City’s streets and public outdoor spaces including outdoor dining modules, parklets, secure bike storage, and other items.
The event is free and open to the public. No reservations or tickets are required.
