Watermark Virtual Series: Introduction to Intersectionality

Dates:
August 13, 4 pm5 pm.

Description:

What is intersectionality, and how does it apply to creating environments that are more equitable? Join The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights for a compelling live video discussion with Brisa Areli Munoz, Brooklyn College lecturer, freelance theater director and former manager of community partnerships with public works of the public theater, and co-founder of The Citrus, a grassroots organization that consults with businesses and communities on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Brisa Areli will share her understanding of Kimberle Crenshaw’s coined term intersectionality and address how it relates to systemic racism, and how individuals can create more just and equitable cultures within their own communities. Through shared understanding, relationship building and commitment to one another, individuals of various identities and experiences can live and thrive in harmony.

Join us for the live video meeting at the designated date and time at us02web.zoom.us/j/83358455710.
