Two firefighters were injured Saturday as they beat back a two-alarm fire that ripped through a Nostrand Avenue deli.
FDNY officials said that the blaze erupted in the basement of the ABC Deli, located on Nostrand Avenue near Avenue P, just before 2:30 p.m.
The smoky blaze soon made its way to the deli, although no injuries were reported.
Firefighters closed the intersection down as they put out the blaze, which was quashed within a short amount of time.
The store suffered extensive fire and water damage as a result.
Firefighter injuries were light, according to officials.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation as this paper went to press.
