Park Slope beauty queen Magdalena Buszniewicz, 18, has plenty to smile about after being crowned Miss Polonia 2009.
The 18-year-old recent High School of Telecommunications’ graduate did her Polish heritage proud as vied with other local comely lovelies for the coveted title during the 49th annual pageant, presented by the South Brooklyn Pulaski Parade Committee at Sirico’s restaurant, 8015 13th Avenue.
The runners-up were Samanatha Kreth, 19, of Park Slope, and Bay Ridge beauty Kinga Sobol, who were awarded second and third place, respectively.
Sharing the limelight with Buszniewicz was nine-year old Izabella Siek, who was hailed “Junior Miss Princess.”
All contestants received trophies, gifts and souvenirs.
Miss Polonia and her Junior Miss Princess will represent the borough at the General Casimir Pulaski Memorial Parade in Manhattan, October 4, and enjoy the distinction of riding atop the South Brooklyn float, donated by the Atlas Savings and Loan Association.
Joining them will be Joseph B. Rudis, who was installed as the contingent marshal, and civil rights gladiator Curtis Sliwa, who will lead the parade as grand marshal.
