If the local park is crowded, parents have another fun spot to entertain their kids in %u2013 the new playground at Public School 48.
Students, staff and other members of the community helped cut the ribbon on the city-funded play-pen at the Borough Park school, 6015 18th Avenue, which now boasts grass, an athletic track, a jungle gymnasium and seating areas in addition to a water fountain and floor games, such as the timeless children’s classic, “hopscotch.”
“The kids love it and families love it because it keeps kids off the street,” said parent coordinator Judy Magenta of the new and improved schoolyard, which is open dawn to dusk, and available to the community after school hours and on weekends.
