Call it the ghost stroller.
Someone has chained a white-painted baby stroller to a parking sign near the corner of Sixth Avenue and Union Street — an eerie tribute similar bicycles that are installed at the scenes of fatal accidents.
The difference here is that no one knows about an incident involving a dead child at or near that corner.
Police records revealed no fatal accidents there, and residents and workers in nearby businesses have been befuddled ever since the stroller appeared in the last few weeks.
“I don’t know the story,” said Teresa M. of Park Slope. “All I know is that I walk by here and it scares me every time.”
The macabre Maclaren also features a red toy car in its seat and a white flower on the handle, palimpsests of the possibly lost child.
“It’s really eerie,” said Park Slope resident Adam Luvitz. “I hope it’s not like the bicycles — like somebody got hit by a car, but that’s what it looks like.”
