Gone but never forgotten in their hearts

The supreme sacrifice of a hero cop was recalled with tears and prayers when family, friends and colleagues united for a Mass in Sunset Park in memory of slain 67th Precinct Officer Anthony Mosomillo.

The 10th anniversary memorial paid tribute to the borough Finest, who was killed in the line of duty while executing a search warrant in Brooklyn on May 26, 1998.

Officer Mosomillo’s widow, Margaret and their two daughters, Francesca and Marie, joined his mother, Marie and brother Sal in the front pews of St. Michael’s Church, 352 42nd Street, where Pastor Patrick Burns presided over the benediction, attended by a sea of blue from the East Flatbush stationhouse, 2820 Snyder Avenue.

Among the law enforcers in attendance was Inspector William Aubry, the commanding officer, and Patrol Borough Brooklyn South Assistant Chief Joseph Fox, who presented Officer Mosomillo’s mother with a plaque commemorating her son’s valor.
