The City Reliquary is presents a number of events for the month of May, commemorating NYC Bike Month and the 125th Anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Events include:
Fourth Annual Bicycle Fetish Day, May 10 from 12-6 p.m. at Havemeyer Street between Grand Street & Metropolitan Avenue: A street fair for your bicycle, show off your ride and revel in the beauty of all types, styles, and genres of specialized, customized, and personalized bicycles.
There will be contests throughout the day including, Best in Show, Best Vintage, Best Hand-made, Best Chopper, Best Small Wheel (includes foldable bikes), Wheelies, BMX tricks, Track bike tricks, Heaviest Bike, Ugliest Bike, and more.

Brooklyn Bridge Birthday Bike Ride, May 24, 12 p.m. at the City Reliquary Museum, 370 Metropolitan Avenue: This year, the City Reliquary is celebrating 125 years since opening day on May 24, 1883. The bicycle ride will depart from the museum and culminate on the Brooklyn anchorage of the Brooklyn Bridge. They will be met with a birthday cake, beverages, and a lively presentation of the bridge’s illustrious history. Souvenir T-shirts will be on sale at the CR gift shop. The suggested donation is $5, or free with purchase of t-shirt.
The Brooklyn Bridge: 125 Years of Inspiration, May 23 at 7 p.m. at The City Reliquary Museum, 270 Metropolitan Avenue: The exhibit will feature the artwork of Brooklyn-based students as inspired by the towers of the Brooklyn Bridge and iconography that surrounds it. Students in public and private schools throughout Brooklyn have submitted artistic projects that show historic research and/or visual exploration of the bridge. The exhibition runs May 3 through June 8. Regular museum hours are Saturday and Sunday from 12-6 p.m. or weekdays by appointment or chance.
