Finally a film about hair that is not a musical!

The nefarious Williamsburg Hair Man, whose recognizable brown hair spikes obscuring a bald oblong forehead earned him a nomination as Hipster of the Decade, is the subject of a new short film that will debut Saturday night at the Music Hall of Williamsburg (66 North 6th Street).

According to filmmakers Zach Timm and Matt Rivera, the two-minute short is about how the Williamsburg Hair Man has grappled with his newfound celebrity, based on his initial discovery and continued coverage on the popular news blog, Gawker.

The film will be screened along with 30 shorts at Filmshop’s Unprotected series on February 27, celebrating the collective’s first season. Formerly part of the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective, Filmshop will screen movies from Brooklyn and Hong Kong, exploring a wide range of topics, followed by a party with performances featuring Emanuel and the Fear and Hank and Cupcakes.

Filmshop Presents Unprotected will begin at 9 pm. Doors open at 8 pm. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door. For more information, visit http://thefilmshop.org or http://www.musichallofwilliamsburg.com.
