Help put cancer on the run

The Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society (ACS) — a gathering of friends, families and co−workers who team up to walk the track in relay fashion in the hope that those lost to cancer will not be forgotten, that those who are battling cancer will be supported and that one day, cancer will be eliminated — will be held all day, June 13 at the Fort Hamilton High School athletic field, 83rd Street & Narrows Avenue.

Teams of individuals representing corporations, clubs, neighborhoods, churches, families and cancer patients participate to focus on the positive side of cancer survivorship.

The relay kicks off with the Survivor Lap in honor of cancer survivors. After a day of fun, games and walking, the luminaries are lit and the field around Fort Hamilton is aglow with the candles in memory of a loved one or in honor of a survivor.
