Police recovered and secured a stolen car after two would-be thieves abandoned their hot wheels at the corner of East 29th Street and Quentin Road Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said that at least one of the two thieves were arrested after an intense search of the area, which required the help of the NYPD aviation unit and the K-9 unit.
Cops from the 61st Precinct had reportedly pulled the vehicle over, ran the plates and had just learned that the vehicle was stolen nine days earlier in another precinct when the thieves bolted.
It was unclear if the second thief had been apprehended as this paper went to press.
